Sodai Art has taken ten priceless masterpieces from the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan and made them into powerful and sublime decorations for large spaces. The project is a collaboration between Sodai Art, an Italian interior design company with international reach, and Haltadefinizione, a tech-focussed division of the publishing company Franco Cosimo Panini, under license from the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan.
Sodai Art has been introduced at Downtown Design in Dubai, the international convention dedicated to innovative, high-quality design.
Ten timeless masterpieces belonging to the Pinacoteca di Brera are available to be printed onto very large billboards, highlighting the finest details in these works. Beginning with the work itself, through the details revealed in the print and onto its physical support, Sodai Art offers a new and vibrant visual language that suggests multiple interpretations, as many as the details that a client wishes to reveal.
The Sodai Art catalog provides a wide choice of works across different styles and times, including private portraits, scenes of everyday life, religious works and landscapes. The works include the Pala di Brera of Piero della Francesca, The Marriage of the Virgin of Raphael, The Sermon of Saint Mark by Gentile Bellini and the Portrait of Antonio Porcia by Titian. The seventeenth century is well-represented with Caravaggio, the master of chiaroscuro, with The Supper at Emmaus, as well as the eighteenth century with Canaletto’s View of the Basin of San Marco from the Punta della Dogana. Representing Romanticism, there is The Kiss by Hayez and the Battle of Custoza by Giovanni Fattori. Completing the catalog are two works of the twentieth century avant-garde, Boccioni’s Riot in the Gallery and the Enfant Gras by Modigliani.
Haltadefinizione performed the task of digital photographic capture with ultra-high definition Gigapixel technology, at the Pinacoteca di Brera.Their innovative photographic technique allows for the collection of high quality images with resolution and detail that are not possible using other means. Hundreds, even thousands, of individual photographic still images, each with a very high level of detail, are “stitched” together. The resulting image is composed of billions of pixels. This permits the enlargement of any detail many times, revealing details but maintaining a very high level of resolution, showing elements that are otherwise not visible to the naked eye. That is how these ultra-high resolution Gigapixel images can be used to fill very large spaces without losing image quality.
Every interior space has unique characteristics and a personality of its own. Sodai applies its innovation and creativity to bring eye-popping highlights to living spaces, with ultra-high definition large-scale enlargements, providing high-quality interior decor that make ideal and original solutions to bringing spaces alive.
“Haltadefinizione’s ultra-high definition Gigapixel images lend themselves ideally to any kind of interior design. Even paintings which are rather small, can be enlarged and used as backgrounds, stage scenery, artistic decors and light projections,” says Luca Ponzio, the founder of Haltadefinizione. “Whether showing fine decorations or the most elaborate finishing details, the Sodai project makes an infinite variety of custom projects possible, while also offering nearly infinite suggestions for styling of commercial and private spaces.”
Sodai Art has the ideal solution to enliven projects and to decorate spaces with innovative ceramic tiles that express the timeless beauty of the arts.
