The April issue of National Geographic Italia is dedicated to the Shroud of Turin. Haltadefinizione® has made an ultra high resolution gigapixel image of the Shroud of Turin for the Archdiocese of Turin, emphasizing details not visible to the naked eye. The data gathered lead to the negative image of the face published on the cover of the magazine, traditionally believed to be that of Christ after his deposition from the Cross. An interesting article by Professor Bruno Barberis, Director of the International Centre for Sindonology (the study of the Shroud) describes scientific studies on the controversial Shroud – from its discovery up to today.
