The project for the creation of a life-size reproduction of the Maternity by Gaetano Previati finds its origin in the recent collaboration between Banco Popolare and Haltadefinzione®. The digital acquisition of the painting, with a surface area of circa 7 square metres, took place last May with the FLYVY proprietary system that uses grazing light photography.
The reproduction was obtained through layers of 12 different pigments and inks: after this process, the work was fixated on a canvas made out of jute. In addition to the assembling of the canvas, the artisanal techniques of Andrea Sansone were also employed in the varnishing, done with acrylic varnish with a ultraviolet filter, and in finishing the surface. Upon completion of the reproduction, a replica of the original frame of the painting was created by Daniele Nencioni, a Florentine artisan once again chosen by Haltadefinizione®.
