The opening of the exhibition “L’Orlando Furioso in Valtellina”, which can be visited until September 10, 2009 at Palazzo Besta, a Renaissance mansion in the Province of Sondrio, is scheduled on July 4, 2009. The initiative takes place within the project of cultural upgrading of Valtellina, a territory already famous for its natural beauties.
Scenes from the local artistic heritage depicting Ariosto’s poem can be seen through an interactive viewing system using high definition images on a multimedia touch-screen. This is certainly one of the main attractions of the exhibition. This tool enables the viewing and enlargement of even the smallest detail of the 24 paintings, representing a simple, new and stimulating way to involve visitors, whether they are experts or not.
