After a detailed restoration process lasted almost a year, the Recanati Polyptych (also known as Polyptych of St. Dominic) by Lorenzo Lotto returns in its original splendour. The masterpiece has in fact just returned to its original location: the Civic Museum of Villa Colloredo Mels in Recanati, where it is housed together with other famous works by the Venetian artist.
The piece will be presented to the public starting with a press conference, “Il Polittico Restaurato” (The restored Polyptych), that will feature Giovanni Carlo Federico Villa, expert on Lotto, Maria Rosaria Valazzi, Superintendent for Regione Marche, and other local authorities.
In conjunction with the event, thanks to the recent collaboration with the Civic Gallery in Recanati, Haltadefinzione® is releasing online an high resolution image of the Polyptych, created once the restoration was over: a golden opportunity to admire the beautiful six panels by Lotto, dated 1508, in every single detail.
